this is an easy lasagna recipe that contains no ricotta cheese

Ingredients

1 pkg Lasagna noodles
1 Medium jar of spaghetti sauce
1 bag Shredded mozarella cheese
1 bag Shredded Italian mix cheese
2 lbs Lean hamburger meat
Garlic Salt

Preparation

Cook lasagna noodles according to directions on package. Brown the hamburger meat and a dash or two of garlic salt.


Preheat oven to 350.


Mix hamburger meat with spaghetti sauce and put thin layer on bottom of 9x13 baking dish. Add layer of pasta noodles.


Add layer of spaghetti sauce mixture, mozarella, Italian mix, then noodles.


Repeat until dish is full. Ending with a thin layer of cheese.


Bake for about 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

This recipe is highly customizable. We sometimes add different cheeses or don't add the hamburger meat.

Just made this and it came out great! I didn't cook the lasagna before baking, just browned the meat in a skillet and then added sauce to it until it almost boiled (forgot to drain the grease! oops) and the lasagna was perfectly done after 45 mins. I'll definitely make this again.

To make this recipe even easier...you don't need to boil the lasgna. Before you start layering the lasagna, heat your pasta suace that you will be using to just about boiling (stirring frequently when it really starts to get hot). Once you are ready to use it, spoon it over your lasagna before putting it in the oven. This way it will start to soften the lasagna noodles as everything bakes together. My mother and Grandmother always have made it this way, and no one ever knows the difference. :) .....Chee-Chee, I hope this helps you. :)

to samiva23. I would personally brown the meat in a pan. it will start to lift the grease and fat. well grease is fat. drain it so the grease doesnt upset your stomach... i Made the dish my own.. by adding tomatoes diced and a little bit of chicken and some squash which i cut into triangles.the meal was wonderful.. you can always get creative and add your own style.

This recipe has a very good flavor. I prepared it by not precooking the noodles. Next time I will either precook noodles or make sure I saturate the noodles with the sauce because the edges were still hard.

You don't need to cook the noodles as long as you lay sauce down on the bottom of the pan and then lay the noodles. The reason this works is because the noodles cook with the moisture from the sauce. I have been doing this for 15 years and the recipe was handed down from my mom. So it does work!! Its so quick and easy!!! Make sure your noodles are covered in sauce. (top layer)

Made this today, what a wonderful meal! Used Smart Option sausage instead of ground beef. Added italian seasoning ,served,with garlic toast, salad & wine. Very flavorful, quick, and easy! Yum!!

I haven't made this recipe yet and it seems simple enough but it also sounds like it's nothing more than spaghetti with a bunch a cheese added. Does this taste like spaghetti to anyone?

tried this one, my husband is 100% Italian.. very picky ..American think they know Italian food but they don't...... I made this very simple, 1/2 turkey, 1/2 ground sirloin, [ i have very sensetive stomach and cannot eat fats and grease]] fresh pasta, basic sauce, and FRESH MOZZERELLA!!!!!!!!!!! Let me tell you, I made a big pan of this , and a small one, and it was Devoured!!!!!!!!!Best of all my picky Italian husband LOveed it!!!!!!!!!!!

The recipe was a bit off... one medium jar of sauce was not enough to mix with the meat and coat the bottom of the pan. Also if you like a thick meat layer I'd recommend using 2 1/2 pounds of meat rather than 2. I only got about 2 thin layers of meat out of this.

We're talking back to basic's here. However, I was looking only for a basic recipe, no frills, and very adaptable. Cooking time was the most important factor. I added spinach and peeled, pressed (water removed between layers of paper towels for 2 hours, and a variety of cheeses and it turned out excellently. A good Back to basic recipe

Quick, inexpensive, healthy!! The 3 most important things for my family. I love this since it is so simple, try using half hamburger & half ground turkey for a leaner calorie count. I love this too for baby showers, movie/book club nights; you can also use different pastas. Have fun with this dish! I do. And everyone always loves it.
