Ingredients

For colored layers:
1-3oz Pkg each of red, green, orange, and yellow jello
1 cup Boiling water for each jello (at different times)
1/2 cup Cold water for each jello (at different times)
For white layers:
2 cups Milk
1 cup Sugar
2 Envelopes Knox gelatin (from a Knox gelatin box)
1/2 cup Cold water
1 Pt sour cream
2 tsp Vanilla

Preparation

Prepare one box of jello (which ever color you want to be on the bottom - I usually do yellow) with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until disolved. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and then pour into a glass 9x13 pan. Place in the refrigerator (make sure it is level.)

For white layer mix:

Bring to boil 2 cups milk and 1 cup sugar.

Meanwhile mix 2 envelopes Knox gelatin with 1/2 cup cold water.

Add Knox mix to the hot milk mix. Let cool.

Add 1 pt sour cream and 2 tsp vanilla. Mix with electric mixer. Keep at room temperature.

Every 45 minutes add another layer. Use

1 1/2 cups white mix for the white layers.

Should end with a colored layer of jello.

Cook's Notes

It works best if you gently spoon the hot jello layers over the white layers. If you pour it over it sometimes melts the white layer and you don't get a crisp look.
