Cannelloni In Tomato Cream Sauce

Creamy tomato sauce over turkey cannelloni

Ingredients

1 pound Ground turkey breast

1/2 cup Chopped onion

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon Ground pepper

16 Wonton wrappers

3 1/2 cups Prepared marinara sauce

1 cup Half and half

8 ounces Shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup Freshly grated Romano

Preparation

Place turkey in microwave safe pie plate, cover with waxed paper and cook on high for 3 minutes. Stir thoroughly to break up meat. Add onions, re-cover and microwave 2 more minutes. Drain well and stir in Italian seasoning and pepper.

Cut corners off wonton wrappers to form ovals. Mix together marinara sauce and half and half. Place 1/2 cup of the tomato saude in the bottom of a 9 X 13" baking dish. Divide meat mixture among wrappers, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, roll up and place seam side down in pan. Cover with remaining sauce and bake at 325 degrees fro 20 minutes. (Note: at this point, you can cool the dish and refrigerate or freeze to serve later). Sprinkle with Romano cheese and bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven, let stand 5 minutes and enjoy.
