Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds Ground beef chuck
1 teaspoon Each of salt and pepper
1/2 cup Pre-cooked bacon bits or crumbles
1 1/2 cup Grated cheddar or Monterey jack cheese
4 Pita pocket bread halves
2 cups Shredded lettuce
2 cups Diced tomatoes
Preparation
Cook the ground beef in a skillet on medium-high heat until well-done (about 8-11 minutes), breaking into medium size pieces. Drain drippings off meat. Keeping meat in same pan, add salt, pepper, and bacon crumbles, stirring to mix well, heating on medium heat for another 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add half of the cheese, mixing lightly.
Open each pita pocket, spooning 1/4 of the meat mixture inside, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and remaining cheese. ENJOY!
Cook's Notes
COOK'S TIP: For more adult tastes, blue cheese can be substituted for other cheeses.
