This is a fast and easy to make recipe that is good year round.

Ingredients

1 pound Ground beef or turkey

2 14 ounce Cans tomato sauce

1 tbsp Italian seasoning

2 cups Elbow macaroni, uncooked

Minced garlic, to taste

2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Preparation

Brown ground beef or turkey with minced garlic. Drain meat, using a colander lined with a paper towel to remove as much fat as possible. Return to the stove and add tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Heat through. While the meat is browning, cook the pasta until tender, about 7-9 minutes. Drain. Place macaroni in a casserole dish, add meat/tomato sauce and mix well. Sprinkle cheese over top of the pasta/meat sauce mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serves 6.

Cook's Notes

You can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the meat while it is browning for a different flavor. Draining the meat in a colander lined with paper towels will significantly reduce the amount of extra fat or grease that is carried over to the meal.

This is my hubby's favorite recipe too! I think next time I make it I will use Italian sausage!
