This recipe is far better than the ready-made stuff and will save you money in the long run. For a little variety, you can add almost any vegetable from your refrigerator. You can serve it over any pasta in your cupboard - we prefer spaghetti.

Ingredients

1 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1 20-oz. Can tomato sauce

1 6-oz. Can tomato paste

1/4 tsp Salt

1/4 tsp Freshly ground pepper

1 tsp Dried basil

1 tsp Dried oregano

Preparation

1. In a saucepan, warm the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and saute for about 1 minute, until garlic is slightly browned.

2. Add the tomato sauce and paste, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano, and mix well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

3. Serve immediately over hot pasta, or cool and ladel into containersr refrigeration or freezing.
