Ingredients

1 pound Sliced ribeye
2 tbsp Sugar, separated
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
3 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Rice wine
1 clove Garlic, super finely minced
1/4 tsp Super finely minced fresh ginger
1 Green onion, finely chopped (both green & white parts)
2 tsp Sesame oil
Dash pepper
1 tbsp Water

Preparation

Toss ribeye (either have the butcher do it for you, or go to a Korean grocery store, where they sell the meat already sliced) with 1 tablespoon each of sugar and rice vinegar.

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, rice wine, garlic, ginger, green onion, sesame oil, pepper and water.

Pour over sliced meat and let marinate for at least 1 hour. Overnight in the refrigerator is even better.

Grill until brown on both sides, or put in single layer under broiler until brown.

Cook's Notes

While not traditionally Korean, you may try throwing in 1 regular onion in medium-thickness slices with the marinade and grill them along with the beef.
