Ingredients

1 Sourdough baguette (15-inches, about 1/2 pound)
3 tbsp Butter
3 tbsp Olive oil
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 clove Garlic, minced or pressed
1/2 tsp Freeze-dried chives
1/4 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Dried savory
1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Slice baguette thinly into about 48 slices. Arrange in a single layer on baking sheets.

In a small pan over medium heat, melt butter with oil. Add lemon juice and bring to boil, stirring; cook for 1 minute. Mix in garlic an remove from heat. Stir in chives, paprika and savory.

Brush bread lightly with butter mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Bake until crisp and lightly browned, 30-35 minutes. Serve hot, or let cool on wire racks and serve at room temperature. Makes about 4 dozen slices.
