This receipe is the only way to make swiss steak!

2 tbsp. Flour

Salt and pepper to taste

1 Onion, sliced

1 jar (12 oz.) mushroom gravy

Trim fat from meat and reserve. Dredge meat in flour, seasoned with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, render fat trimmings over medium high heat, discard fat. Add meat to pan and brown on both sides. Remove browned meat to oblong baking dish. Add sliced onion to pan and cook until just starting to brown. I will make this again and again, we loved it. The sauce was tasty and the meat was tender. The brown bits from the pan added great flavor.
