This is a basic hamburger recipe with some easy ideas to intensify the flavor.

Ingredients

2 lbs Ground beef

Salt

Pepper

6 Hamburger buns

Preparation

Divide meat into 6 portions. Mix with salt and pepper to taste. Form into 6 patties. Cook by grilling over high heat, broiling, or cooking in a skillet over medium-high. Cook about 4 minutes on each side for medium.

For cheeseburgers, add thin slice of cheese after burger has been flipped once.

Lightly grill or toast buns, if desired.

Cook's Notes

Add lettuce, tomato, onion and a slice of cheese of your choice for a tasty cheeseburger.
Blue cheese and bacon are a good combination when piled on a burger.
For a hawaiian taste, add a slice of pineapple and BBQ sauce.
If you are in the mood for some flair, make a Tex-Mex burger by adding hot pepper sauce to the raw meat. Then, add guacamole and salsa to round out the taste.
Chili and cheese also taste good when topped on a hamburger, but don't forget the antacids.
