Ingredients

1/2 lb Italian sausage, sliced or crumbled
1 Large onion, coarsely chopped
1 Large clove of garlic, minced
2 cans (14 1/2 oz each) Del Monte Pasta Style Chunky tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8 oz) Del Monte tomato sauce
1 cup Water
8 oz Uncooked rigatoni or spiral pasta
8 Sliced mushrooms, optional
Grated Parmesan cheese
Parsley, optional

Preparation

In large skillet, brown sausage. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is soft; drain. Stir in tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, water and pasta. Cover and bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, covered 25 to 30 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stirring occasionally. Stir in mushrooms; simmer 5 minutes. Serve in skillet garnished with cheese and parsley, if desired.

Super easy for busy nights. We've tried it with ground italian sausage as well as linked. Everyone loves it and asks for seconds.
