Meat Loaf Pie

My family loves meat loaf but I don't have the time it takes to cook it - especially during the week. This variation cooks in half the time and is a nice alternative to the traditional loaf!

Ingredients

1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk

1/2 cup Dry bread crumbs

1/2 tsp Garlic salt

1 pound Lean ground beef

1/3 cup Ketchup

1 cup (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp Dried oregano

1 tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

In a bowl, combine milk, bread crumbs, and garlic salt. Add beef; mix well. Press meat mixture onto the bottom and 1" up the sides of a greased 9" pie plate. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 20 minutes; drain. Spread top with ketchup. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, oregano, and Parmesan cheese. Bake 3-5 minutes longer or until meat is no longer pink and cheese is melted.

Cook's Notes

For a lower-fat version, substitute ground turkey for the lean beef
