| 1/2 | Head romaine lettuce, washed |
| 1/4 cup | Slivered almonds |
| 1/2 | Medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced |
| 1 | Medium ripe avocado, peeled and sliced |
| 1 | Large orange, peeled, broken into quarter sections, and thinly sliced |
| | Dressing: |
| 1/3 cup | Vinegar |
| 3 tbsp | Olive oil |
| 3 tsp | Sugar |
| 1/4 tsp | Salt |
| 1 clove | Garlic, finely chopped |
Tear romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in large bowl and add remaining ingredients. Combine dressings in a small jar with lid. Cover and shake until well-blended. Toss ingredients and dressing together.
You can substitute a peeled cucumber for the green pepper.
Turn this into a main dish by adding cubes of cheese, flaked tuna, or small bits of cooked chicken.
