Basic Won Ton Recipe

This recipe can be used for fried won tons, won ton soup and more. Even dessert!

Ingredients

1 pkg. , 14 oz, won ton wrappers
3/4 lb Ground pork
1 Small can water chestnuts
1/4 c Finely chopped green onion
1 t. Soy sauce
1 t. Salt
1t. Cornstarch
1/2 t. Fresh ginger - grated
Replacement for pork can be ground or chopped chicken, turkey or even shrimp! Want fancy? Try lobster!

Preparation

Mix meat with all remaining ingredients. Put 1/2 t. meat on center of each wrapper. Fold to a triangle. Turn top of triange to meet fold. Mosten corners with water and overlap to make a small won ton triangle. Deep fry for appetisers and serve with favorite sauce. Also for use in won ton soup. Cook as directed on soup recipe.

FOR DESSERT....fill won tons with sweetened cream cheese and deep fry. Top with powdered sugar.

OR fill with chocolate pieces, deep fry and top with powdered sugar.

Cook's Notes

These can be made in advance and frozen! Then fry or use in soup as needed.
