Preparation
1 "peel, halve and scoop out cores of pears"
2 "In a large saucepan combine the wine, sugar, cinnamon stick and cloves bring to a boil"
3 "Simmer 10 minutes"
4 "Add pear halves cut side down"
5 "over and simmer about 10 minutes"
6 "Transfer pears to a plate"
7 "Raise heat and reduce liquid to a syrup (about 30 min)"
8 "Serve with ice cream and drizzle with syrup"
