Ingredients

1 c. BUTTER, SOFT
2 c. SUGAR
2 EGGS
3 t. VANILLA
4 c. FLOUR
1 t. CLOVES
2 t. ALLSPICE
3 t. CINNAMON
2 t. SODA
1 (1lb. ) CAN APPLESAUCE

Preparation

CREAM BUTTER, SUGAR, EGGS AND 1 T. VANILLA. SIFT TOGETHER FLOUR AND SPICES AND ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE. BLEND 2 t. VANILLA TO APPLESAUCE, ADD SODA, THEN BLEND WITH THE BATTER USING A WOODEN SPOON. BATTER WILL BE STIFF. SPOON INTO GREASED MUFFIN TINS, 1/2 FULL.

BAKE AT 400 DEGREES FOR 12 MINUTES.

YIELD: 4 DOZEN MUFFINS

OPTIONAL: ADD RAISINS AND CHOPPED PECANS TO THE MIX.
