Ingredients
1/2 cup Steel cut oats
Pinch of salt
2 Dashes of cinnamon
1 1/2 cups Water
1 Very ripe banana, mashed
1/2 tsp. Pure vanilla
1 Tbls. chopped walnuts
Preparation
Combine the oats, salt, cinnamon and water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn the burner to low and simmer covered until done, approximately 15 minutes (stirring frequently to avoid sticking).
Mash the banana with the vanilla and add it along with the nuts to the oatmeal.
Cook's Notes
You can substitute a couple of tablespoons of raisins or apples in place of the bananas and vanilla.
