Ingredients

1 pound Chinese Long Beans (or green beans) trimmed and cut into 6 inch length
1 Tspn Asian (dark) sesame oil
2 Large cloves of garlic
1-1 1/2 ts Pns hot chili sauce
1 Tspn packed light brown sugar

Preparation

1. Place the beans in a large steamer basket and set in a large saucepan over 1 inch of water. Cover tightly and steam until bright green and almost tender, 5-6 minutes.

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the garlic and cook, crushing the garlic with a spoon, until fragrant, 30 seconds. Add the beans and chili sauce; sprinkle with the brown sugar and cook, stirring, until lightly browned and tender, 2-3 minutes.

Cook's Notes

Aromatic Jasmine or Basmati rice goes well with these beans. Cook according to package directions for 4 servings.
