Ingredients
1 lb. Pork sausage or hamburger
5 slices White bread
2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese (part swiss cheese may be used if desired)
11/3 cup Milk
4 Eggs
Salt, pepper, dry mustard (to taste)
Preparation
Brown meat in a skillet until no longer pink
Cut bread into cubes.
Alternate layers of cooked meat, bread cubes, and cheeze in a 11/2 qt. casserole dish (or 9" pie plate or cobbler dish).
Reserve 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese for the topping.
Mix the milk, eggs, and seasonings together in a large measuring cup or small bowl. Pour over the layers in the casserole dish.
Top with remaining cheeze.
Bake @ 350 for 50 - 60 minutes.
Note: Sliced mushrooms, green pepper, or green onion may be added to the bread-cheese-meat layers for a different flavor.
