Our twist on the Weimar Institute's recipe

A wonderful, hearty gravy

Ingredients

1 cup Raw cashews

1 cup Cold water

1/4 to 1/3 cup Flour

1 tbsp (rounded) McKay's Chicken or Beef Seasoning

1 tbsp Nutritional yeast flakes

Garlic powder to taste

Preparation

Rinse cashews in very hot water. Place all ingredients into a Vitamix or other powerful blender. Blend until smooth, adding additional water as necessary to thin gravy to a liquid consistency and fill the blender. Place in a pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened. Additional flour mixed with cold water may be added to thicken to desired consistency during cooking. Cook 1 minute longer over low heat to finish cooking the cashews. Serve warm on potatoes, roasts, stuffing - anything you like gravy on!
