Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients
2 cups Macaroni
¼ cup Chopped onion
2 tbsp. Butter or margarine
2 tbsp. Flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 cups Milk
1 1/3 cups Grated parmesan cheese
1 jar Spaghetti sauce (28 oz.)
½ cup Fine dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp. Melted butter or margarine
Preparation
Cook macaroni according to directions; drain. Saute onion in 2 tbsp. butter until tender. Stir in flour and salt; cook for one minute. Add in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in macaroni and cheese.
Spoon half of the jar of spaghetti sauce into a 2 quart baking dish. Top with half of the macaroni mixture. Repeat layering. Combine bread crumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake, uncovered at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
