Ingredients

2 cups Moong dhal

2tbs Vegetable oil

2 tsp Black mustard seeds

2 tsp Ground corriander

2 tsp Ground cumin

1/2 tsp Hot chili powder

5 cloves

1 Cinamon stick

10 Curry leaves

3 Ripe tomatoes - chopped

1 tbs Sugar

1 tbs Tamarind concentrate

Poppadoms to serve

Preparation

cook dhal in 4 cups of water, simmer until soft - 45 mins

heat oil, add mustard seeds, cook till they pop, add spices, and cook till fragrant, add tomatoes, sugar and tamarind and cook until thick and dry

stir in dhal and cook until heated through
