Filipino Family Recipe

A simple to cook dinner entree.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb Rib-eye steaks sliced thinly (about less than 1/8 inch)

1/2 cup Soy Sauce

Juice of 1 lemon

1 Medium White/Yellow Onion, sliced to make rings

1 tbsp Canola Oil

Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation

Mix together soy sauce and lemon juice. Pour over meat and marinate for about 15 to 30 minutes. Heat oil in pan, add beef to the pan and cook meat until just before desired doneness. Remove meat from pan and leave all juices and left over sauce in pan. Add onion rings and saute until soft and begin to brown. Add meat back into pan and season to taste with some salt and pepper.

Serve with brown or white steamed rice or a side of steamed or roasted vegetables.

Cook's Notes

The beef may be marinated well in advance, even up to a day prior to the day it is to be used. This sliced rib-eye is usually available at you local Asian grocer. If you do not have one in your area, the thin sliced breakfast steak cuts will work just as well.
