bbqued pork roast with a pepper rub and a spicy sauce

Ingredients

1 4 1/2 to 5 pd. boneless pork shoulder roast

1/2 tsp Black pepper

1/4 tsp Celery seeds

1/8 tsp Onion powder

1/8 tsp Garlic powder

1/8 tsp Ground cloves

Dash of ground red pepper

1 8 oz. Can tomato sauce

1 cup Catsup

1/2 Chopped onion

1/2 Chopped green pepper

1/4 cup Vinegar

2 tbsp Brown suger

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp Musterd

2 tsp Chili powder

2 cloves Garlic, minced

Optional* french rolls, toasted

Preparation

trim fat from meat. In a bowl combine salt, pepper celery seed, onion, garlic, cloves and red pepper. Rub mixture evenly over the meat.

On the grill, place meat in a shallow pan with water on the bottom. alternate beween pan and the rack of the grill. Dribble with it's own juices.

For the sauce, in a large suacepan combine tomato sauce, catsup, onion, green pepper, vinegar, brown suger, worchestershire sauce, musterd, chili powder and garlic.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Simmer, covered for 15 minutes.

Spoon sauce as desired onto pork servings.

Cook's Notes

Don't let the pork dry out. Great meat rub. Very spicey sauce but really good.
