Brisket

Word of Mouth

Good easy Brisket recipe for Slow Cooker. Foolproof.

Ingredients

1 Beef brisket 2 to 4 lbs trimmed

1 12-oz Can coca-cola

1 pkg Dry Lipton Onion Soup Mix

1 tsp Garlic powder or 1 clove of garlic, pressed (to taste)

Preparation

Trim brisket of all fat and if necessary cut it to fit in your crock pot. Sprinkle with onion soup mix and garlic powder. Pour coca-cola over the mix. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Serve.

However, I usually cook this the night before I plan to serve it. In the morning I remove it from the crock pot. Cool and refrigerate it until dinnertime. Then I skim the fat, remove the meat from the broth and cook it in the oven at 400 degrees until browned and crispy. Then it can be slliced or shredded. Sliced I use it for dinner. Leftovers can be used for tacos, barbeque or sandwiches.
