Bran Muffins

Ingredients

2 cups Water (boiling)

4 tsp Baking soda

1 cup Sugar (honey)

1 cup Shortening (butter)

4 Eggs

4 cups Milk

2 cups Bran flakes

4 cups All bran

1 tbsp Salt

5 cups Flour

Preparation

Boil water and add soda (let fizzle). Add sugar (honey), shortening (butter) and eggs. Mix well then add the other ingredients. Blend together and bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes.

Cook's Notes

After mixing together can store in refrigerator for 6 weeks. NOTE: Does not work at elevation below 3500 feet, low elevations the baking soda doesn't work right.
