Cinnamon Raisin Twirls

Ingredients

Filling

1/3 cup Sugar

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 cup Raisins

1/4 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts

1 sheet Frozen puff pastry, thawed as directions indicate

1 Egg, beaten with a fork

Preparation

1. Position racks to divide oven in thrids. Heat to 375. Lightly grease large cookie sheet

2. Combine first 3 ingredients

3. Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Ligtly nbrush with egg. Sprinkle evenly with filling.

4. Tightly roll up pastry, jelly-roll style. Gently press roll to compress.

5. Bake on upper oven rack 15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Serve warm or at room temp.

Cook's Notes

to make choclate-almond variation, heat oven as directed. Omit step 2. Substitute the following filling in step 3: 1/3 cup each semisweet mini-chocolate chips and chopped almonds, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon. Proceed as directed in step 3.
