| 1 c. | Steel cut oatmeal |
| 1/4 c | Broun sugar |
| 1 t. | Melted butter |
| 1/4 t. | Salt |
| 1/2 t. | Cinnamon |
| 1 c. | Peeled & chopped apples |
| 1/2 c. | Dates or raisins |
| 1/2 c. | Chopped walnuts (optional) |
| 2 c. | Water |
| 2 c. | Milk or half-and-half |
| 1 t. | Vanilla |
Spray the inside of a 3-4 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix well. Cover and turn on LOW setting. Cook for 8-9 hours. Stir well. Serves 8.
It's really good with nuts, but that my be a challenge with kids.
