Apple Crock Pot Oatmeal

Easy to make overnight oatmeal. I looked high n' low for an overnight slow cooked oatmeal without success. So after some trial and error I came up with this easy delicious recipe.

Ingredients

1 c. Steel cut oatmeal
1/4 c Broun sugar
1 t. Melted butter
1/4 t. Salt
1/2 t. Cinnamon
1 c. Peeled & chopped apples
1/2 c. Dates or raisins
1/2 c. Chopped walnuts (optional)
2 c. Water
2 c. Milk or half-and-half
1 t. Vanilla

Preparation

Spray the inside of a 3-4 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix well. Cover and turn on LOW setting. Cook for 8-9 hours. Stir well. Serves 8.

Cook's Notes

It's really good with nuts, but that my be a challenge with kids.

This oatmeal is wonderful! So easy and so good! It makes the house smell lovely. Waking up to this marvelous and healthy treat is fantastic. I love it!
