Bakla-Squares & Ice Cream

Ingredients

4 sheets (13x17 in. ea) phyllo dough
4 tbsp Melted butter
1 1/2 cups Chop'd walnuts
1 cup Sugar
2 tbsp Cinnamon
1 pint Vanilla bean ice cream
 Honey, for topping

Preparation

Cover the surface of a cookie sheet w/ parchment paper, and on it spread a sheet of phyllo dough.

Brush phyllo w/ a little butter and scatter over one-third of the walnuts.

Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle 1/3 cup over walnuts.

Repeat the phyllo, butter, sugar-cinnamon and walnut steps twice again, finishing w/ the 4th sheet of phyllo.

Cut pastry into 3-in. squares w/ a sharp paring knife. Cover the pastry w/ another sheet of parchment paper and another cookie sheet.

Bake in hot oven at 400 F for 18 to 23 mins. or until golden.

Remove from oven and serve warm pastry squares w/ ice cream and a drizzle of honey.
