Chocolate Chip Cookies

Contributed By: tammib

Light and fluffy cookies, not chewy like most other chocolate chip cookies. I also noticed there is no vanilla in the recipe, which is unusal, but this recipe is from the 1930's, so vanilla was pretty costly then.

Ingredients

1 c Butter

1 1/2 c Brown sugar

4 Eggs

4 tbs Hot water

1 1/2 c White sugar

5 c Flour

2 tsp Baking soda

1 tsp Salt

1 pack Chocolate chips

Preparation

Mix together butter, both sugars, eggs, and hot water until creamy. In seperate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add flour mixture into the sugar mixture and then add the chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-10 mins.

Cook's Notes

The cookies stay puffy until they cool down. The recipe called for 8-10 mins but it takes at least 12 mins in my oven.
