Cherry Button Pie

Contributed By: tammib
Sarah "Callie" Brosius, my grandma

It is more of a custard pie that makes it's own crust. Very easy to make.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. Flour

5 c Milk

3/4 c Sugar

2 Eggs

3 c. Pitted sour cherries, approximately

Preparation

Beat flour, sugar and eggs well by hand and then add the milk. Mix well. Place cherries on the bottom of 3-- 9 inch glass pie pans. Pour milk mixture over the cherries and bake at 350 degrees for 10 mins, then lower to 325 degrees and bake for 35 mins more until the top gets lightly brown. They should "jiggly" slightly in the middle and will stiffen up after cooling down.

Cook's Notes

I imagine you could make this with other berries, but we always used cherries as my grandparents had a cherry tree at their house.
