If baking, preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mash black beans in a bowl.
Chop pepper and onion (I actually used my frozen bag of red green and yellow peppers and onion, about .5 cup of that and chopped it up in a food processor). Add peppers and garlic to beans and stir together.
In a separate bowl, mix egg and spices, then mix into black bean mixture.
Now add your bread crumbs (to a consistency where you can form into burger patties)
If baking, cook for 10 minutes on each side.
If grilling, put them on a sheet of aluminum foil and grill for 8 minutes each side.
