Slice hot dogs lengthwise into quarters, then cut into thirds. In a skillet, saute in 2 T. butter until lightly browned. Set aside 3/4 c. hot dogs. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In lg. bowl, combine eggs, milk, and pepper. Add hot dogs except for reserved 3/4 cup. Stir in cornbread mix and 1 1/2 c. cheese. Mix all and spread in greased 9 X 13. Top with breserved hot dogs and remaining cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.
