Cheddar Masher Dogs

Perfect for when you have left over mashed potatoes. This is certain to be a hit with the entire family. This recipe is healthiest when made with an organic all natural beef or turkey dog.

Ingredients

2 Large baking potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded

2 tbsp. Butter

1/2 cup Milk, warmed

Salt & Pepper to taste

4 Natural hot dogs, beef, chicken, turkey or tofu, boiled

Preparation

Place potatoes in a large pot. Cover with water. Add salt. Bring to a boil. Cover, turn down to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes or until potatoes are soft. Drain. Return to pan. Mash potatoes. Add milk, cheese and butter. Stir well. Preheat broiler to high. Slice hot dogs lengthwise - but not all the way through. Spoon potatoes into the hot dogs. Place on baking sheet. Broil for 3 minutes.

I grew up on these too! We just used left over mashed potatoes & put a slice of cheese on top.

These sound really odd. But it was an absolute favorite of mine growing up and now my kids love it too. Fun and good dish!
