Chicken and Sausage in Smoked Gouda Cream Sauce

A rich sauce for Fetuccine noodles

Ingredients

1 tbsp Butter

1 tbsp Flour

1 lb Chicken diced

1 lb Italian Sausage (bulk)

1 pint Mushrooms

3-4 Scallions

1/3 lb Smoked Gouda Cheese

1 pint Heavy Cream

1/3 cup White Wine

1/3 cup Milk

3/4 tsp Smoked Paprika

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

Salt

Pepper

Preparation

Cook Chicken,Sausage,mushrooms and scallions in a skillet with white wine, salt and pepper. Drain and set aside juice.

Grate Gouda cheese.

In a saucepan place butter and flour, heat to medium and mix. add meat juices and milk and heat to boiling. Add cream and heat again. When mixture is hot slowly stir in cheese. When cheese is melted slowly add and stir in paprika and nutmeg. When stirred together add to meat mixture and fold together.

Serve hot over Fetuccini noodles

My picky husband and daughter loved it. It was even good the next day. I used a small corkscrew pasta instead of fetuccine noodles. The Gouda gives it a nice flavor for a white sauce. Easy. Will definitely do this recipe again.
