Ingredients

2 tbs. MAPLE SYRUP
1/2 c MARGARINE
1 c BROWN SUGAR
1 LOAF THICK SLICED BREAD, CRUSTS TRIMMED
5 EGGS
1 1/2 c MILK
1 tsp. VANILLA
1/4 tsp. SALT

Preparation

MIX SYRUP, BUTTER AND BROWN SUGAR AND SIMMER UNTIL SYRUPY. POUR OVER BOTTOM OF 9 X 13 IN PAN. PLACE 8-10 SLICES OF BREAD ON TOP. POUR EGGS, VANILLA AND MILK MIXTURE OVER BREAD. COVER WITH PLASTIC WRAP AND REFRIDGERATE OVERNIGHT. REMOVE WRAP AND BAKE 350 DEGREES FOR 30 TO 45 MINUTES UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED. CUT INTO SLICES, FLIP ON SYRUP SIDE AND SERVE.
