Ingredients
1 Small tub of cottage cheese
2 cups Mozarella
(separate into1cup each)
1 1/2 cup Parmesean cheese
(set aside 1/2 cup)
1 pkg Italian dressing powder
1lb Hamburger
1 pkg Large shells pasta
1 jar Favorite pasta sauce
1 Lg bag of chopped frozen spinach
Preparation
Thaw spinach, drain, and rinse. Preheat oven to 375. Brown hamburger meat mashing into small pieces. Drain. Boil 25-30 shells until tender. Read directions on box. Drain and rinse in cold water. In a large bowl mix hamburger, cottage cheese, 1 cup mozarella cheese, 1 cup of parmesean cheese, italian dressing powder, 3/4 of jar of sauce and spinach. In a 9x13 baking dish, spread remainder of sauce on bottom. Take each shell one at a time and fill with mixture,(this is where the kids become really handy) placing it onto spread sauce in baking dish. Sprinkle remainder of mozarella and parmesean evenly over top. Bake until cheese is golden brown.
Hint: Bake covered until cheese is melted on a higher temp, then go back and uncover broiling until golden brown.
Cook's Notes
My two girls love this meal so much. It has been a hit at our get togethers and dinner parties. I like to make the whole meal for my family of 4 and then freeze the remainder for a later date. Reheats well in microwave and in oven.
