BAKED CHICKEN BREAST WITH MUSHROOM SOUP

Ingredients

4 CHICKEN BREAST

1/2 cup SOUR CREAM

1 can CREAM MUSHROOM SOUP

1 SLICED ONION

1 cup SLICED MUSHROOMS

1 SLICED BELL PEPPER

SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE

GARLIC POWDER TO TASTE

1 cup JACK CHEESE

3 tbsp. CRISCO OIL

Preparation

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. WASH CHICKEN BREAST PAT DRY. SPRINKLE WITH GARLIC POWDER, BLACK PEPPER AND SALT. HEAT OIL IN CAST IRON SKILLET. ADD CHICKEN BREAST AND BROWN. WHILE CHICKEN IS BROWNING ADD SOUR CREAM AND SOUP IN A SMALL BOWL, MIX WELL. THEN POUR OVER BREAST AND TOP WITH ONIONS, BELL PEPPER AND MUSHROOMS. COVER AND BAKE FOR 1 1/2 HOURS OR UNTIL CHICKEN IS NO LONGER PINK INSIDE. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND TOP WITH JACK CHEESE. PLACE BACK IN OVER UNCOVERED TO MELT CHEESE. SERVE WITH CHICKEN FLAVORED RICE A RONI AND DINNER SALAD.
