Bacon Date Appetizer

These may sound a little strange but trust me...you will be pleasantly suprised. I bring these as an appetizer to just about every party and they are always the first to be gone and I always get asked for the recipe. Do try and do enjoy!

Ingredients

1 package Cream Cheese

1 bag Pitted Dates

2 Boxes Ready to Serve Bacon (I prefer Oscar Meyer-Yellow Box)

Toothpicks

Preparation

1. Spread cream cheese around the whole date (basically surround it with a layer of cream cheese) lay out on plate (30 is about the number you can fix with 2 packages of bacon)

2. Wrap each cream cheese covered date in a piece of bacon and secure it by sticking a toothpick in it.

3. Put them on a cookie sheet (lighty greased) and bake at 350 for 5 minutes or until you see the edges of the cream cheese start to brown a bit.

4. Allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes then serve.

Cook's Notes

The array of flavors these provide will pleasantly surprise you. TRUST ME! Use chilled cream cheese, it is much easier to manage around a date than room temp otherwise it is sticky.
