Breakfast Basket
A simple breakfast basket makes a great hostess gift during the holiday season. Assemble a small bag of premium coffee or tea, muffins or tea bread and a small honey bear. Line the basket with a pretty holiday towel and nestle the breakfast-makings inside.
Breakfast in Bed Tray
Fill a tray with jams, jellies, real maple syrup, coffee's, mugs, breads, muffins, a cd with great mellow music...wrap all this with cellophane. You can go to the Dollar Store and get lots of terrific goodies.
Date Night Basket
For all of your married/committed friends and family. Tailor them to all the couples likes. Add gift certificates to a restaurant and a movie, play, or museum. Include a bottle of wine or apple cider for the non-drinkers. Also a candle and some romantic idea ("Take this basket to the place you met for wine after dinner"). For those with kids, make "Kids' Night In" Baskets that include gift certificates to a pizza place and rental place and lots of candy and popcorn. Shred colored paper to save on packing in the baskets.
Homeland/State Cooking Gift Basket
Creat a State/Ethnic Cooking Gift Basket. Buy a little recipe box at the dollar store and handwrite about 50 authentic recipes, add authentic ingredients (bought at a specialty store). Line the basket with a tropical theme towel and fill the basket with the goodies. This idea can be adapted to a particular state to be mailed out to a friend oversees or in another state.
Warm Me Up Basket
Line a large basket with a fleece "hugger" blanket, a mug, a book, homemade cocoa and coffee mixes and homemade biscotti.
