Slow cooker tamale pie

Ingredients

3/4 cup Cornmeal
1 1/2 cups Milk
1 Egg, beaten
1 pound Ground beef, browned and drained
1 Envelope dry chili seasoning mix
1 16 oz Can diced tomatoes
1 16 oz Can corn (or 16 oz frozen corn)
1 cup Grated cheddar cheese

Preparation

1. Combine cornmeal, milk, and egg.

2. Stir in meat, chili seasoning mix, tomatoes and corn until well blended. Pour into slow cooker.

3. Cover. Cook on High 1 hour and then on Low 3 hours.

4. Sprinkle with cheese. Cook another 5 minutes until cheese is melted.

We liked this recipe. It was different, but good. I like that it was very simple to make.

We really liked this one! I baked it in the oven because I forgot to put in in the crockpot in time and t worked just fine. This was much better than other tamale pie type recipes that I've tried. Other ones have always been too dry.

My family enjoyed this easy version of Tomalie Pie. Time was short enough to whip together in the afternoon and still have it ready for dinner. I kept it on high to wrap it up in less time (3 Hrs.)
