Extending the Table: A World Community Cookbook
1 lb. Stew meat, cut in small pieces
1 Bouillon cube
6 c. Water
1/4 c. Pearl barley
2 Lge. onions, chopped
1 c. Peas, fresh or frozen
2 Carrots, chopped
1 c. Celery, chopped
1 t. Vinegar
Salt & pepper
Boil meat in water with bouillon until tender.
Skim fat and add remaining ingredients.
Cook until barley and vegetables are tender.
Salt & pepper to taste
