Simple fat-free chili recipe with lots of flavor

Ingredients

1 Onion chopped

32 oz Tomato sauce

5 15-oz Can pinto beans with liquid

3-4 cans Water (use empty bean can)

4-6 tbl Chili powder

1/2 bag Veggie Crumbles -OR- 1 cup TVP dry

Preparation

If making in crock pot - Add all ingredients let simmer all day or overnight if prepared the night before Uncovered

If making on stovetop - saute onion in a little water till soft. Add rest of ingredients. Reduce added water to 1-2 cans. Let simmer for approx 30 min - 1 hour till thickened.

Cook's Notes

This is a great recipe for vegetarians to feed non-vegetarians. My family has been eating this for years and I still think they are convinced there is meat in it! Be sure to check labels on Pinto bean cans for no added pork.
