Wash the lentils. Boil the lentils and rice in 3 cups of water for every cup of lentils. After the lentils and rice boil, turn heat down and cook for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the lentils have turned mushy then the lentils are fully cooked. Add the salt towards the end. Serve lukewarm or cold with a tomato and cucumber salad or another Lebanese salad.
