Baked Rice - Palow

A delicious Baked Rice dish perfect for dinner. Serve with vegetable and salad.

Ingredients

2 cups Long Grain Rice
3 tbs Cooking Oil (Canola)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cumin
6 quarts Water

Preparation

Soak Rice in Water for 4 Hours

Bring 5 Quarts Water to Boil in Large Pot

Bring 1 Quart Water to Boil in Small Put

Add Cooking Oil and Salt to Small Pot

In Large Pot, add a dash of salt and a touch of oil, too(optional).

Drain 2 Cups Rice and Empty into Large Pot

Boil for 5 minutes, until Al Denta

Drain Rice

Put Drained Rice into Large Pot and Add Water, Salt, and Oil form Small Pot

Let Simmer Until Water Reduces to well below Rice line.

Add 1 tsp of Cumin and mix into Rice.

Gather Rice from all sides to center, and poke a few holes w/ the back of your spatula in the rice.

Cover With Aluminum Foil, Put Lid on and Bake for 1/2 Hour on Stove top at Med Low or in Oven at 350 Degrees.

Cook's Notes

You need a large 5+ Quart Pot and a Small 1 - 2 Quart Pot.
