What was available that day in the fridge

This was a great and quick recipe that my children enjoyed so much that they actually requested a second helping. It was cooked up last minute with ingredients I happened to have on hand. I hope that you will enjoy it too! Very easy to prepare.

Ingredients

2 c Long Grain Rice

4 c Water

1 8 oz Pkg of Sliced Ham Lunch Meat (cut into squares)

1 lb Fresh Green Beans (1" pieces)

1 Large White or Brown Onion (chopped in large pieces)

4 tbl Margerine

1/2 c Soy Salt

1/2 CBrown Sugar

1 tsp Pepper

1/2 tsp Garlic Salt

1/4 c Dried Parsley

Preparation

Rinse rice and place in rice steamer with water. Steam rice while you prepare the remaining ingredients.

In saucepan over medium heat melt margerine. Add chopped onion and cook until transparent. Add soy sauce, sugar, garlic salt, pepper, stir well. Reduce heat. Add green beans and ham. Cover and simmer until rice is done in cooker.

Stir mixture into rice and serve as a side dish or a entree.

Cook's Notes

Make ahead, keeps well in refrigerator.
