Ingredients

1-3/4 c Flour
3/4 c Powdered sugar
3/4 c Butter
1/4 tsp Salt
3 Green apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
3 Eggs
1/3 c Brown sugar
1-1/2 tsp Almond extract
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 c Sliced almonds

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, butter and salt, mix well. Press onto the bottom of a greased 7 x 11 inch baking dish and top with apple slices.

In a small bowl, beat together eggs, brown sugar, almond extract and cinnamon until well blended; pour over apples. Sprinkle almonds evenly over the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely before cutting.

Makes 18 bars.

Cook's Notes

I'm sure this would be even tastier if you add a few chocolate chips.
