Plain Fried Crackers (Matthi)

Ingredients

2 cups White flour

Salt to taste

2 tsp Peppercorns, coarsely crushed

1/2 tsp Or carom seeds

1/2 cup Oil OR

1/2 cup Ghee

1/4 to 1/2 cup Water

Preparation

1. Combine the flour, salt, peppercorns, carom seeds, and oil to form a crumbly mixture. Make a stiff dough by adding water.

2. Roll out into small 3" rounds and deep-fry over low heat till the crackers turn a pale golden brown.

3. Cool and store in an airtight container.

Cook's Notes

These can be stored for over a month.
