Grate the apples into a large bowl and cover w/the sugar- let stand 1 hour.
Combine: egg-oil-vanilla- add to apples.
Mix in: salt-flour-baking soda-nuts-and butterscotch bits.
Bake @ 350degrees in a Jelly Roll Pan (either a 20x10 or 11x16) for 40-45 minutes.
mix icing and apply to cake after baking while it is still warm.
