Fish Sticks w/ mock Tartar Sauce

Use White fish fillets, cod or flounder as an alternative to processed fish sticks.

Ingredients

FISH STICKS:

Nonstick Veg. oil

1 tblsp Canola Oil

1 pound White fish fillets (cod or flounder...)

1 cup Yellow corn meal

1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

2 tblsp Italian Seasoning

2 Large egg Whites

1/4 cup Milk

1/2 tsp Garlic pwder

MOCK TARTAR SAUCE:

1/4 cup Nonfat mayonaise

1/4 cup Plain yogurt

2 tblsp Sweet pickle relish

1 tblsp Lemon juice

Preparation

400] oven

Coat baking dish with nonstick spray, then canola oil.

Rinse fish and cut into 1/2 x 1/2 strips.

Combine corn meal, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning and garlic powder in small paper bag.

Whisk egg whites and milk until well blended. Dip the fish strips into the egg mixture. Place into bag a few at a time. Hold bag closed and shake well. Place coated fish sticks on prepared baking dish. Bake until golden brown - about 15 min.

Meanwhile or ahead of time: combine tartar sauce ingredients and blend with fork. Serve in cups for dipping.

Cook's Notes

Freeze extra fish sticks and microwave for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes to thaw.
